A popular restaurant is up for sale after the husband-and-wife team who had run it for years died within 14 month of each other. Karen and John Hall's family say they have had to make the difficult decision to close Brookhouse Mill in Denbigh following the tragic deaths.
John, 61, passed away in March 2021, with thousands of pounds raised for The North Wales Cancer Appeal in his memory, and just over a year later, Karen died last month at the age of 51.
This week, their family announced they had decided to sell the restored flour mill. In a post on Facebook, they said: "Due to the tragic events of the last 14 months, we have made the decision that without Karen and John we cannot continue with Brookhouse Mill.
"It is with great sadness that Brookhouse will close and be offered for sale with the hope that a new owner can be found to take the business forward for the next 41 years. Brookhouse Mill has been the place for so many special occasions and created so many memories that have touched peoples lives.
"We would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved in making Brookhouse Mill what it was - a big part of the community and one big family. We would also like to thank everyone, from staff past and present, customers, suppliers, friends and family for all their support over the past 41 years. Thank you very much."
