It’s been six long days since the Carolina Panthers scooped up Matt Corral in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft. And during the better part of those six long days, we hadn’t heard a peep from the one party that matters most in all of this.
But now, the deafening silence has finally been broken.
On Thursday, Golden Corral gave their official statement (or at least a tweet) on the selection of the Ole Miss quarterback who shares their namesake. It didn’t disappoint:
The Corral family is happy for @corral_matt, and hopes his @OleMissFB success translates to the @Panthers @NFL in Charlotte. #hottytoddy

@goldencorral has 9 Charlotte area locations. @Panthers new QB @corral_matt, a member of the extended family, is welcome anytime. #nfl

If we were @corral_matt, we’d bring the @Panthers O-line to a Charlotte @goldencorral. #AllYouCanEat #BBQRibs #KeepPounding

Just as they serve up their daily endless buffets, Golden Corral assuredly served up an endless amount of smiles with their much-anticipated nod to Matt’s big career move. Plus, fittingly enough, the popular restaurant chain is headquartered in nearby Raleigh, N.C.—just a two and a half hour-drive from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Unfortunately, this tweet will do little—if anything—to knock off Bojangles as the undisputed favorite eatery of the locals. But there’s no doubt there are marketing opportunities abound in the Carolinas for both Corrals.
