Rescue operation after woman falls 25ft onto railway sidings in Bolton

A woman who fell 25 feet onto a railway siding was rescued by fire crews using specialist equipment. The woman fell onto the siding in Bolton yesterday evening (November 17).

Fire crews from Farnworth, Bolton and Stretford were rushed to the scene of the fall near to the Crown Decorating Centre on the Lever Court Victory Trading Estate in Bolton. Manchester's technical response team also responded and the fire fighters were joined by police officers and ambulance crews.

The fire crews used a turntable ladder to lift the woman on a stretcher back to street level, where she was evaluated by paramedics.

The cause of the fall and the woman's current condition is currently unknown - we are waiting for an update.
