Ireland have jumped to an all-time record 23rd place in the latest FIFA Women’s World rankings.
The Girls in Green are up one spot from the October list, taking into account their 4-0 thumping of African giants Morocco during last month’s training camp in Marbella.
2022 has seen Vera Pauw’s side set new bests three times. They climbed to 26th in August, 24th in October and now 23rd.
Of next year’s World Cup opponents, Canada are highest in the rankings. They leapfrogged Spain this month into sixth.
Australia are up to 12th, while Nigeria remain in 45th.
