In the weeks since Shannon Sharpe officially left Fox Sports, there’s been a lot of speculation over his next move. While guys like LeSean McCoy are apparently gearing up to take the Undisputed desk over, sports fans have clamored for Sharpe to make a return to ESPN’s First Take.
But it doesn’t look like that’s happening. Sharpe seems to be in line for another lucrative offer in sports media.
According to Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, Sharpe has entered early talks with FanDuel to become a new host for the sportsbook’s TV platform. After losing Pat McAfee to ESPN, FanDuel would apparently love to make a big splash in the form of getting a personality like Sharpe on board.
And with the 2023 NFL season quickly coming around the bend, Sharpe reportedly doesn’t want to miss out on the action.
More from Front Office Sports:
“Shannon doesn’t want to sit out the football season,” said one source. “It’s his bread and butter.”
Sharpe would be the latest significant sports personality to make the jump to FanDuel. Former NFL Network host Kay Adams and ex-ESPN anchor Michelle Beadle have both joined the network in the last year. Getting Sharpe in the fold would undoubtedly be another feather in the cap.
