The New England Patriots agreed to terms to acquire Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker and a 2022 fifth-round draft pick in exchange for a 2023 third-round pick on Saturday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Parker recorded 40 receptions for 515 yards and two touchdowns. During his career, he has tallied 338 catches for 4,720 yards and 24 touchdowns.
This is the fifth trade that Bill Belichick has made with the Miami Dolphins since he became head coach in 2000. The most notable acquisition out of these trades was Wes Welker in 2007. Welker would go on to record a franchise record 672 receptions.

Parker has a chance to be the top option for quarterback Mac Jones. This deal could potentially fill the Patriots’ need for a big-play wide receiver.
Parker will join New England’s receiving corps that includes Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, Nelson Agholor, N’Keal Harry ,Ty Montgomery, Kristian Wilkerson and Malcolm Perry.
