The Carolina Panthers have entered a new era. And before they introduce their new quarterback, they may be introducing a brand new look.
According to Andrew Lind of SportsLogos.net, the Panthers will be unveiling new uniforms prior to the 2023 NFL draft. So, expect an announcement some time before the night of Thursday, April 27—which marks the first round of the annual calling of names.
Some speculation about a possible wardrobe change began a few weeks ago, when NFL Fashion Advice (@fashion_nfl on Twitter) noted that the Panthers and the Arizona Cardinals were the only teams with discounted primary jerseys on NFL Shop. That is often an indicator for an upcoming uniform redesign.
Lind, in his report from Wednesday, added that the team is expected to drop the silver from its color scheme. One of his sources suggested the Panthers’ look will be brought “in line” with that of Charlotte FC’s, the Major League Soccer franchise also owned by Tepper Sports & Entertainment.
Update (6:33 p.m. ET):
Per the Panthers, they will not be redesigning their uniforms nor are they removing the silver. They will, rather, correct the blue to “process blue.”
