Report: NFL Suspending Jaguars’ Cam Robinson for Four Games for Violating PED Policy

Jaguars left tackle Cam Robinson is officially facing a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday.

It was reported on April 27 that Robinson was found to have violated the PED policy, but the NFL was waiting on the results of Robinson’s test to see which substance triggered the positive test before determining the length of his suspension. This is Robinson’s first offense.

The suspension also costs Robinson $3.55 million of his base salary, ESPN’s Field Yates added. This is based off the three-year, $52.75 million extension he signed last year.

The Jaguars and Robinson released statements on Thursday after the suspension news dropped. The Jaguars said they will continue to support Robinson during this time.

“As a veteran leader in the locker room, I always want to set a good example and my actions in this instance are not a reflection of that goal,” Robinson said in a statement, via NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. “I apologize to the fans, my coaches and, most importantly, my teammates. It hurts me that I cannot be out there with my brothers at the start of the regular season. I will attack training camp the same way I have for the last six seasons, to make sure I am ready both mentally and physically.”

Robinson is set to miss matchups against Jacksonville’s first four opponents of the 2023 season including the Colts, the Super Bowl reigning champion Chiefs, the Texans and the Falcons.

Robinson was drafted in 2017 by the Jaguars, where he’s remained the starting left tackle every year except during the ’18 season. He missed the last few games of the 2022 campaign, along with the playoffs, due to a knee injury he suffered in December vs. the Cowboys.
