Michigan State basketball needs to fill some gaps in their roster this offseason via the transfer portal, and it looks like they are looking close to home to fill an opening on the wing. On Thursday, David Klein of SpartanHoops reported that the Spartans have interest in Oakland transfer Micah Parrish.
Parrish is a 6-foot-6 small forward who averaged 12.1 points and 6 rebounds per game last year as a sophomore and made the all-conference defensive team. He had 19 points and 8 rebounds against the Spartans in their lone match-up of the season.
Parrish is a polished defender who, while not a sharpshooter, is at least a willing shooter who averages around 35-percent beyond the arc and could be the plug-and-play option Izzo needs to fill the void left by Gabe Brown on the wing.
MSU 🏀 has shown recent interest in Oakland transfer wing Micah Parrish. Dropped 19 PTS & 8 REB against the Spartans this past season. 6’6” 195 lb with a + wingspan. Averaged 12.1 PPG and 6 RPG. Named to the All-Defensive Team in the Horizon. Would have 3 years of eligibility. pic.twitter.com/Da1Jbx7H6s
