The New York Giants are parting ways with defensive end Boogie Basham.
Basham, 26, was a second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills (61st overall) back in 2021 out of Wake Forest. Giants general manager Joe Schoen was the Bills’ assistant GM at the time Basham was drafted.
Basham was traded to the Giants before the start of the 2023 season along with Buffalo’s 2025 seventh-round pick in exchange for the Giants’ 2025 sixth-round pick.
Basham has only been active for one of the Giants’ seven games this season. Last year, he recorded 11 tackles in 13 games but the writing was on the wall for him as the Giants are likely to add an offensive tackle to the active roster this week.
Basham could possibly end up back with the Giants on the practice squad if he goes unclaimed off the waiver wire.
