The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly hosting former Liberty quarterback Malik Willis for a visit next week ahead of the 2022 NFL draft, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Colts don’t have a first-round pick thanks to the Carson Wentz trade in 2021 but they are seemingly doing all of their homework at the game’s most important position.

Even after trading the No. 82 overall pick for Matt Ryan, the focus is finding a long-term option at the position—something they haven’t been able to do since Andrew Luck retired.
Willis is viewed by many as the top quarterback in this class. At worst, analysts view him as the second-best option. Given his upside with the combination of a big arm and rushing ability makes him an intriguing target for almost any team.
It’s highly unlikely that Willis would fall to the Colts at No. 42 overall so if they are serious about drafting him, they would need to put together a trade-up package that would be pretty heavy.
Even then, it will be hard to convince a team to move back all the way to No. 42 even if they have another first-round pick.
The Colts haven’t yet made a move in the draft for a potential franchise quarterback and while Willis is likely to be out of reach, they are still doing their homework.
