Don’t get used to the media version of Bill Belichick because the former New England Patriots coach could be eyeing a return to coaching as early as 2025.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that the legendary coach would like to return to coaching for the right opportunity. Whether that opportunity presents itself in 2025 or not remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: Belichick isn’t ready to retire.
Schefter wrote:
Belichick still would like to return as a head coach in 2025 if the right opportunity presents itself. Belichick will be able to keep a close eye on the league through his media projects, tracking its players and readying himself to coach again.
It makes sense that Belichick would want to continue coaching considering he’s only 15 wins away from surpassing Don Schula as the winningest coach in NFL history.
He’s currently sitting at 333 total career wins, and the right opportunity could put him within reach of the all-time record. Depending on how the season unfolds, there could be multiple potential destinations for Belichick in 2025.
