A renowned pest made off with bottles of booze after burgling a well-known Tyneside pub.
A previously reported on Chroniclelive in 2020, prolific crook Kevin Batey has a shameful record, which include offences of outraging public decency where he clutched his groin and flashed his genitals to members of public on a busy street in Byker, Newcastle.
The 34-year-old was given a night-time curfew and a warning by from a district judge on that occasion in December 2020. However, less than a year later, the thief was back to his long-running criminal ways.

Newcastle Magistrates' Court was told that Batey targeted The Raby pub, in Shields, Road, in Byker, and managed to gain entry before fleeing with £49 worth of alcohol.
But Batey's notoriety meant meant it didn't take long for him to be caught and he was arrested and charged with burglary of a non-dwelling, which he pleaded guilty to while in the dock on Wednesday. The court heard that the offence happened on November 28 last year.
Alanna Wesencraft, defending, said Batey, of Ladykirk Road, in Benwell, was shortly due for sentence for a separate matter at the crown court and applied for this case to be adjourned until after that.
She added: "I wondered if it would be sensible to adjourn this matter until after the crown court case. They are getting a pre-sentence report and we could do with using that. If the position is that he is given a community order or a suspended sentence order, it would alter his situation in the magistrates' court."
Emma O'Hegarty, prosecuting, agreed. Magistrates adjourned the case until April 13 when Batey will appear back in the same court. In the meantime, he was released on unconditional bail.
