A man has died and another is in a serious condition in hospital following a crash in Renfrewshire.
Emergency services were called to the crash on A78 at Inverkip around 11.25pm on Saturday. Two cars a Toyota Yaris travelling south and northbound VW Golf, were found to have collided.
The 59-year-old male driver of the Toyota Yaris was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died a short time later. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The driver of the VW Golf, a 22-year-old man, was taken to the same hospital where medical staff describe his condition as serious.
Sergeant Nick Twigg, Roads Policing Unit, Police Scotland, said: “We are keen to hear from motorists in the area at the time, particularly anyone with dash-cam footage. If you have any information that may assist officers with their investigation, please call police via 101 quoting reference number 3898 of Saturday, 15 October 2022.
“The road is now open.”
