Remote voting for elderly & disabled, women-run booths, security upgrades in Maoist areas: CEC on Chhattisgarh Polls

RAIPUR: In a new initiative adopted by the Election Commission for the "inclusive and participative elections" in the Chhattisgarh assembly polls, elderly people above the age of 80 years and individuals with 40 percent or more disabilities will be able to cast their votes from the comfort of their homes.

Prioritizing youths, tribals, and women, the ECI has decided to establish 900 "women-managed polling booths" and aims to reach the farthest locations of tribal populations by setting up 112 non-motorable polling stations, while also engaging with youths in educational institutions.
