With the news that Meat Loaf has died at the age of 74 the people of Glasgow will be looking back on the iconic singer’s visits to the city, and his final performance in Scotland at the SECC Hyrdo.
The Bat Out of Hell singer passed away on Thursday, with friends and family around.
An emotional post on Facebook read: “Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side.
“We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man.”
"We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time.
"From his heart to your souls…don't ever stop rocking!"
His hit single I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That) was the best selling song of 1993, and won him a Grammy.
Meat Loaf also played roles in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Wayne’s World and Fight club over the course of his career.

Just last year, the musical based on the album Bat Out of Hell came to Glasgow - telling a Romeo & Juliet-esque tale of a rock and roll boy who falls for the wrong girl.
In 2013, Meat Loaf visited Glasgow for the final time.
As many stars do, the singer's claim that it was his last tour was taken with a pinch of salt - though in this case it was in fact true.
Performing at the SECC, Meat Loaf wowed crowds with his signature tunes Dead Ringer and For Crying Out Loud.
In an interview with the Daily Record, he told them his Last At Bat tour would be a farwell.
He said: “The spirit is willing but the knees and things aren’t and I am just so tired of getting on and off air planes and travelling and staying in hotels.
“I’m not tired of doing the shows.
“I’m tired of the b******t that comes with getting on an airplane - it drives me crazy.”
His gig on April 7, 2013 was the final time he would perform in Scotland.
At the time, Meat Loaf was 65 and had said five years prior that he was retiring.
Continuing to perform and going against his claims, the singer said: “I know the fans will enjoy the show as much as I enjoyed putting it together.”
Glasgow was the second stop on his UK tour, first popping in at Newcastle before heading down to London.
Meat Loaf first appeared in Glasgow on September 28, 1983.
His setlist included I’m Gonna Love Her For Both of Us, Razor’s Edge, and Gimme Shelter.
Performing at the Apollo Theatre, he would return three more times to the same venue before moving to the SECC in 1993.
Returning in 1984 and again in 1985 to sold out crowds, the love affair between Meat Loaf and Glasgow was - and still is, set in stone.
