Refuse collector spotted on CCTV throwing rubbish out of bin and onto street

A furious mum has caught on camera the moment a council refuse collector took rubbish out of her bin and then left it behind on the street.

Farah Al Nemesh, 26, from Hull, said it was "not acceptable" and that leaving rubbish in the street would add to the rat problem in the area.

She took a look at the CCTV footage at her home after seeing two bags of rubbish that she had placed into a bin, which were now lying in the street on May 6.

When Farah looked at the footage from her home in the centre of Hull she was left angry and shocked, reported HullLive.

She saw the binman taking out the bags and leaving them there without returning to take them again.

Mum Farah was upset that the man's actions would mean the rubbish would now be left in her bins for another two week before the the next collection day.

She was particularly concerned about the environmental impact and the way the rubbish would attract vermin.

She said: "It is not expected from a man who is employed to clean our environment. This behaviour is not acceptable.

"There is already a rat problem in this area that now it is going to attract more rats and mice here.

"If it was too heavy, he could have just put into the truck after. It doesn't make any sense why he would leave it on the floor. We pay our taxes, so why would they not carry out the service we pay for?"

Hull City Council has said they will be conducting a thorough investigation after being alerted of the incident by Hull Live.

A spokesperson said: “We appreciate this incident being brought to our attention and would encourage residents to report any problems to us directly.

“This is clearly not the procedure our staff should follow and we apologise to the residents concerned.

“We treat matters like this extremely seriously and will be conducting a thorough investigation.”
