Reese Witherspoon has admitted that she has an interest in making an investment in Arsenal, with the Hollywood actress a fan of the club and amid a growing trend of big names investing in English football.
The star of the Legally Blonde franchise has expressed her love of the Gunners, a passion she shares with her son, and has admitted that her family would be happy if she chose to invest in the club. There is a growing trend of big names investing in football, with Will Ferrell and Matthew McConaughey setting a trend for Hollywood stars investing following their work in the MLS.
This has spread across the pond, with 'Creed' star Michael B Jordan being part of a consortium which has recently purchased Bournemouth. Meanwhile, the most high-profile club ownership in the UK from a big name from the USA is 'Deadpool' star Ryan Reynolds taking over Wrexham alongside 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' writer and actor Rob McElhenney.

Speaking about the potential of investing in Arsenal, Witherspoon explained while as a guest on BBC's The One Show: "Well if there's space at Arsenal, all my sons, everybody would be really, really excited because that's our favourite team." She added: "We watched the game the other day it was bananas, that's our team."
AStan Kroenke has overcome the odds to return to being a somewhat popular owner of Arsenal, with the exploits of Mikel Arteta's squad playing a big part in restoring fans' trust in the board. This has been aligned with success off the field for Kroenke, with the LA Rams NFL franchise owner enjoying recent success and making investments to grow his sporting empire.
Kroenke and his assets are valued at over £10 billion, meaning that Witherspoon would be unlikely to be able to acquire any share of Kroenke's 100% stake in the club. However, in conjunction with a businessman who has enjoyed success in Los Angeles, she could become more than just a fan of the club, especially given recent comments.
