Reece Rodger phone data provides breakthrough with new timeline for missing dad

Fresh information from missing dad Recce Rodger's phone has revealed a new timeline for his disappearance with the 28-year-old leaving the campsite where he had been with pals a lot earlier than previously thought, his partner has said.

Paula Airzee has shared a new police development that shows that the Fife dad's phone was one hour and 20 mins east of the campsite at Loch Rannoch where he was reported missing from at 11.20pm on March 18.

The signal picked up by analysis of mobile data was in the vicinity of a potential sighting of Reece and so can now be confirmed as the 28-year-old too.

Reece from Rosyth vanished eight weeks ago and was last seen on the banks of Loch Rannoch, near Pitlochry in Highland, Perthshire. Pals believed he had gone to bed at 11.30pm but there was no sign of the dad-of-two the next morning.

But mobile data has now revealed that he was a lot further away from the campsite at 11.30pm with his new location between Learn farm and Aulich.

Heartborken fiancée Paula said today (May 13): "Further analysis has been undertaken of Reece’s phone and I can now confirm Reece was 1 hour, 20 mins East of the campsite at 2320 hours on the 18th March.

"The phone signal was in the vicinity of where the potential sighting was so I can also now confirm it was Reece seen at 2330 hours on the 18th March. This means Reece left the campsite a lot earlier than initially advised.

"If anyone is coming out searching, this area East towards the Loch Rannoch hotel is still our main focus.

There are no sightings of Reece on any CCTV from either of the two hotels in the area."

Recce's phone appears to have been switched off before he was seen at 11.30pm by a witness with no headlight. They offered him assistance at this time he then disappeared from view."

Paula continued: "We are unsure if Reece made it out of this area, as you can see there is a bay here. Reece has no light and there is little glare from the loch, he may have injured himself and/ or become disoriented.

"This is why it’s really important the cars that pass on this road (B846) after 2330 hours on the 18th March are so crucial. We need to know if they passed this precise location and if they seen anyone walking or not.

Shoreline and water searches are now our main focus areas from place seen (as detailed above) heading East towards the Loch Rannoch hotel and beyond out to the Dam.

"Please remember the reward for anyone that help us bring Reece home."

Police Scotland has suspended its own searches for Reece after dog units, divers and air support failed to produce any new leads. The force said its efforts had been "extensive and rigorous".

A missing persons investigation remains underway but despite numerous appeals and reported sightings, no further information has come to light.

Thousands of people have joined a public Facebook group dedicated to tracking the dad-of-two down.

Paula said she did not believe Reece was troubled at the time of his disappearance, adding that she had spoken to him while he was on the trip and that he was in "good spirits".

Reece is described as 6ft, of medium build with dark hair. When last seen he was wearing a black long-sleeved T-shirt with distinctive white letters on both sleeves spelling out MA STRUM, black jogging bottoms and black wellington boots.

Police are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone matching his description to get in touch. Information can be given to Police Scotland by calling 101, quoting reference number 1348 of Sunday March 19.
