The fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime may be imminent, as indicated by a key rebel leader who expressed confidence in the rebels' progress. The leader of Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS), Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, stated that the overthrow of the current regime is on the horizon, particularly in cities like Homs and Damascus.
In a recent statement, al-Jolani advised his fighters to exhibit mercy and compassion towards civilians as they advance. He emphasized the importance of treating the people in the areas they liberate with kindness and humility, portraying themselves as benevolent conquerors.
