The branch of The Co-operative on Beckhampton Road in Bestwood was closed on Saturday (February 19) which led to customers asking questions.
Social media users were left scratching their heads as to why the grocers was closed with no immediate explanation.
It re-opened to customers again the following day (Sunday, February 20).
But Co-op have explained why the store was closed temporarily.
A spokesperson confirmed the store was closed on Saturday because of an issue with staffing.
They added that everything is now back to normal, and that it was not related to Covid, saying there was no reason in particular, just that there was a shortage of staff.
