Real Madrid president Florentino Perez gave a blunt response to some of his club's fans when they asked him to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo told Manchester United just before the start of pre-season that he wished to leave the club if a 'reasonable offer' came in for his services. A few days later, it was revealed the Portuguese ace would miss the start of pre-season due to 'family reasons'.
Said 'family reasons' prevented the 37-year-old from joining Erik ten Hag's squad on their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia. He did, however, play 45 minutes in their last friendly of the summer against Rayo Vallecano.

Ronaldo also came off the bench for United in their 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion on the opening weekend of the season. Ronaldo now looks set to be staying at Old Trafford if another club does not come up with a bid for him.
One side who look to have ruled themselves out of signing the forward is his old club Real Madrid. When asked by fans to 'sign Ronaldo', Perez gave a very short and to the point response.
"Sign Ronaldo?" The 75-year-old said. "Again? He's 38-years-old."
Despite getting his age wrong by a year, it would seem clear that Perez is not interested in signing an ageing star like Ronaldo this summer.
