Real Madrid 0-4 Barcelona: Robert Lewandowski at the double as Barca run riot in El Clasico rout

Quick-fire brace: Robert Lewandowski scored twice for Barcelona in the space of three second-half minutes - (AP)

Barcelona stunned fierce rivals Real Madrid 4-0 in El Clasico to extend their lead at the top of LaLiga to six points.

Two quick-fire goals from Robert Lewandowski and further strikes from Lamine Yamal and Raphinha blew Los Blancos away in the second half at the Bernabeu.

It was a night to forget for Real Madrid and in particular Kylian Mbappe, who saw two goals ruled out for offside.

But this match will live long in the memory for Barcelona, who ended Real’s 42-game unbeaten streak lasting 13 months with an emphatic victory.

Questions will be asked of Real after a second-half capitulation that left Carlo Ancelotti visibly frustrated at the full-time whistle.

The manner in which Ancelotti’s side collapsed so badly against their fiercest rivals in their biggest game of the season so far will be hard to explain.

Barcelona leave Madrid with all three points as well as bragging rights and quite possibly a big psychological advantage in the title race.

Hansi Flick may also believe that things will get even better for his side with Frenkie De Jong, Gavi and Dani Olmo all making comebacks from injury in the Spanish capital.

Real started the better of the two teams and thought they were ahead through Mbappe on the half-hour mark, before VAR intervened to rule his opener out for offside.

The Frenchman was flagged six times in the first half and it looked inevitable that Real would punish Barca's high defensive line.

However, the visitors flipped the script after the break with Lewandowski coolly slotting them ahead before doubling the lead just two minutes later.

Teenager Yamal added a third from a tight angle before Raphinha chipped Andriy Lunin to send the away fans into disbelief.
