Real Housewives of Miami (RHOM) star Guerdy Abraira has revealed that she's been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The event planner, 45 - who has been a cast member on the popular reality TV show since 2021 - shared the news with her followers on Instagram earlier today (May 10).
She announced on the platform that she was diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram and expressed gratitude that it was detected "at an early stage".
Guerdy revealed that she received the news whilst she was on vacation on the island St. Barts and told her followers that she is now awaiting surgery and a treatment plan.
She wrote: "[In March] I was in St. Barts having the time of my life when my doctor called me with results following a regular mammogram checkup. I have breast cancer."
"It took me a while to process it all and this is why I took a break from social media last month as many noticed. Many of you reached out to check on me and I am thankful for your caring gestures," she further commented in the post.
She said: "For now I am preparing for my upcoming surgery and then will come my treatment plan. This process is definitely intense and what I ask of you is empowerment not pity".
The reality TV star further commented in the post, which she shared with her followers earlier today: "I will 'guerdyfy' this cancer as I guerdyfy everything else in my life."
"I am lucky that this breast cancer was discovered at an early stage - it is still scary of course, but I have love and support from those around me and that alone is the fuel that I need," she continued in the recent post on Instagram.
She concluded by issuing a message to her followers, with Guerdy writing: "For those who do not get health checks regularly, I urge you to. Your life depends on it".
The announcement has since prompted an outpouring of support and well-wishes from her followers on the platform, including from some of her co-stars from RHOM.
Marysol Patton responded: "Awe Guerdy I love you. You've got this". Kiki Barth said: "Praying for you babe. You got this". Whilst Julia Lemigova wrote: "We are here for you".
They weren't the only Bravo stars to react. Others included Summer House's Ciara Miller who wrote in the commented: "We are all rallying behind you. Thank you for being so vulnerable and open. Sending you prayers daily with love".
