Ready to zipline, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation asks tourists as it gets ‘adventurous’

CHENNAI: With the tourism industry taking a beating over the last two years on account of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) has decided to get “adventurous” in 2022. Camping sites, adventure tours, bed and breakfast homestays in the hills, ziplining… TTDC is intent on pulling out all the stops to show its tourists a good time.

“We are setting up camping and adventure sites all across the state,” says TTDC chairman Sandeep Nanduri. “We have also identified dam sites such as Aliyar Dam in Coimbatore and Emerald Dam in Ooty, where we will kickstart water-based adventure sports in the next month or two.” Nanduri adds that plans include ATV rides, ziplining, archery, and glamping holidays as well.
