The 49ers on Thursday announced a couple of moves on the margins of their roster and practice squad. Running back Jeremy McNichols was promoted to the active roster, while defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth was officially added to the practice squad.
McNichols took the roster spot vacated by DT Kalia Davis, who was recently placed on IR with an ankle injury. The veteran RB was elevated from the practice squad for the team’s Week 14 game against the Seahawks, but he only contributed on six special teams snaps. He figures to continue helping on special teams when he’s active.
Stallworth’s addition was reported Thursday morning by his agent. The six-year veteran will give the 49ers some internal DT depth after injuries hit the position hard over the last couple weeks.
