Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have won the race to sign Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko. The 'next Haaland' has agreed terms with the German side and will move to Die Roten Bullen at the start of the 2023/24 season.
Sesko was linked with a move to St. James' Park when his agent posted images of Newcastle Airport and of the Quayside last month, with the Magpies looking to bolster their front line. Eddie Howe's side missed out on Hugo Ekitike who has moved to PSG and had reportedly been looking at Sesko as a possible alternative.
Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle were just a few of the sides in Europe reportedly keen on his signature. However, Austrian Bundesliga side RB Salzburg had stressed the message that Sesko would remain their player this summer.

They've got their wish after Leipzig agreed that the 19-year-old would remain at Salzburg for the remainder of the current campaign before heading north of the border to Leipzig. He's the latest talent to come off a remarkable conveyor belt in Austria.
In a statement released on Twitter, the Austrian club said: "We can confirm that Benjamin Sesko will be joining @RBLeipzig_EN at the start of the 2023/24 season. The speculation around his future can finally be put to a halt, as the Slovenian striker shall remain with us for this season before moving to Germany next summer."
