The Baltimore Ravens will be relying on inside linebacker Trenton Simpson in a massive way throughout the 2024 season. The third-round pick in 2023 will slot in next to Roquan Smith this year and play some significant snaps.
When listing off 50 underrated players that could shape the 2024 NFL season, Zachary Pereles of CBS Sports put Simpson’s name in the ring. He talked about how Baltimore no longer has fellow inside linebacker Patrick Queen, and Simpson will be tasked with filling those shoes.
“Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Queen left for the arch-rival Steelers this offseason, and Simpson will likely be his replacement. In fact, Queen endorsed Simpson earlier this offseason. A third-round pick last year, Simpson is regarded as an explosive athlete, and though he hardly played last season, playing next to Roquan Smith should help ease his adjustment.”
The Ravens rely on their youth more than ever, mainly due to so many veterans departing this offseason. It remains to be seen how it works out, but Simpson will be a big part of their plans moving forward.
