The Baltimore Ravens officially placed the franchise tag on quarterback Lamar Jackson on Tuesday in an anticipated move. There was some hope that a last-minute long-term extension could be hammered out between the two sides before the 4pm deadline, however no such deal materialized.
Following the official announcement put out by the team, general manager Eric DeCosta released a statement about the situation. He said that the team will continue to negotiate with Jackson in good faith, and hope to strike a long-term deal with the signal caller leading the way for many years to come.
