Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell returned for his 15th NFL season in 2022, and following the conclusion of the season it wasn’t known if he was going to retire and return for year 16 in 2023. Campbell was on NFL Network’s Super Bowl coverage and the topic of his return for Year 16 was discussed.
NFL Network’s Rich Eisen mentioned that Campbell would be returning for his 16th NFL season, and asked Campbell if his statement was true. The veteran then announced the news himself, saying “This is true. I’m coming back baby”, which is music to the ears of Ravens fans.

Campbell signed a two-year deal before the 2022 season so he’s still under contract with the Ravens. It’s possible that his deal might be restructured in order to give Baltimore more money for the salary cap to make moves. Either way, having a leader like Campbell on and off the field will do wonders for one of the top defenses in the NFL, whether he continues his career with the Ravens or not.
