Everton were mired in the relegation zone on Saturday, with basement side Southampton rallying from 1-0 down to secure a 1-2 victory at Goodison Park.
Amadou Onana's early goal had got Frank Lampard's side off to a great start before Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse bagged a brace to secure a hard fought win for the league's bottom side. Nathan Jones has now won back to back matches as Saints boss, with their win against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup during the week.
Jones also sees his side draw level on points with the Toffees, with both sides now occupying the relegation zone level on 15 points. Boos rang around Goodison Park on Saturday, with fans expressing their disappointment at the result as well as the recent direction of the club both on the pitch and at board level.
