A rare 50 pence coin has just sold for £165 on eBay, and there are still thousands more in UK circulation.
The coin was released back in 2009 to mark 250 years since the Kew Gardens opened in 1759, reports the Liverpool Echo. The Royal Mint has estimated that around 210,000 of these coins were made.
The currency features the famous Chinese Pagoda at the Royal Botanic Garden on the tails side, with the late Queen Elizabeth II's face on the other side.

Coin Hunter, a change checking website, has put the average resale price for the Kew Gardens coin anywhere between £150.89 and £161.50. According to the original eBay listing, the "Fifty Pence 50p 2009 - Kew Gardens Genuine" had an original starting price of just 99 pence.
However, following a 32-way bidding battle, the price soon rose and the final seller ended up paying £165 for it - plus the £1.70 for postage and packaging.
According to the Coin Hunter website, this particular coin has sold for a below average price before. However, there have also been examples of the Kew Gardens 50 pence going for as much as £200 in the past.
If you find a Kew Gardens 50 pence in your change bundle, or in an old piggy bank, the first thing to do is check the date on the back of the coin.
This is because the Royal Mint reissued a batch of the coins in 2019 to celebrate 50 years of the 50 pence - and the 2019 version doesn't sell for as much as the 2009 one.
However, you could still be in for a payday if you find a 2019 one, as they can still sell for up to £80 on eBay.
