Raphinha to Arsenal transfer: Edu talks, price tag revealed, Chelsea and Newcastle battle

Barcelona attacker Raphinha continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta's side had tried to sign the Brazilian international from Leeds United last year, as had London rivals Chelsea, before the player opted to join the Blaugrana instead. But recent reports have claimed that the Catalan giants are keen to bring footballing icon Lionel Messi back to the Nou Camp, something that could have an impact on the 26-year-old's future given the club's ongoing financial struggles.

That has resulted in speculation regarding Raphinha returning to the Premier League and football.london has now rounded up all the latest reports regarding the talented winger.

Edu talks

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Raphinha is 'considering leaving' Barcelona this summer due to a lack of game time with the former Leeds man also concerned about what the potential arrival of the aforementioned Messi could do to his place in the team.

The report also adds that Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United are all interested in acquiring his services, with Gunners Sporting Director Edu making 'constant calls' to the player's representatives.

Price tag revealed

According to Brazilian journalist Joaquim Piera, Barcelona are willing to sell Raphinha this summer if they receive a bid in the region of €70million-€80million (£62million-£71million) this summer.

The Blaugrana are said to be entertaining offers for the likes of Franck Kessie, Eric Garcia, Ferran Torres and Marcos Alonso to facilitate a potential return for Messi.

Arsenal admiration

Raphinha added fuel to the fire back in February when he admitted that Arsenal and French giants Paris Saint-Germain are two teams that he likes.

When quizzed on which clubs he admires, the Brazilian replied: "A team I like outside of Spain? Arsenal and PSG."

Trophy admission

Speaking after Barcelona beat Real Madrid in the Super Cup final back in January, Raphinha indicated that he sees his future at the Nou Camp. "This is my first trophy with this giant club, this enormous shirt of FC Barcelona - it’s incredible," he said.

"And so now we go for more trophies."
