Raphinha tipped for big transfer by two former Liverpool players

Graeme Souness and Robbie Keane praised Leeds star Raphinha after his performance in their 3-2 victory over West Ham on Sunday, and claim the 25-year-old is good enough to play for any team in the world.

The Brazilian, who has been tracked by Liverpool, was a constant threat for Marcelo Bielsa’s side at the London Stadium, and set up the match-winning goal for Jack Harrison.

Despite Leeds’ struggles this season Raphinha has enjoyed an impressive campaign thus far, scoring eight goals and notching two assists in 18 Premier League games.

His sensational form has seen him linked with a move away from Elland Road and Reds legend Souness believes he has the talent and the work ethic to succeed at a club competing for top honours.

“To be part of a top team that wins the big trophies you have to work your socks off. He told Sky Sports whilst analysing the Whites’ triumph in east London.

“That boy has got all the ability you’d ever need to play in any team in the world right now, but on top of that he’s got the hard yards in him as well.

“He’ll do the running that players like him, with all that technique don’t normally want to do, but he will do it.”

Former Leeds striker Keane echoed Souness’ view and fears his old side will struggle to stay up if they sell their talisman this month.

He added: “He could play for any top four team in the world.

“You would hate to play against him, this is a big, big month for Leeds because if they sell him to a top team they could fold.”

Raphinha's contract at Elland Road runs until the summer of 2024.
