Ranvir Singh issues Strictly warning to new contestants as first stars confirmed

Ranvir Singh has fired a rather brutal warning to the first stars to be confirmed for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, having starred on the show herself two years ago.

Good Morning Britain and Lorraine star Ranvir was a real fan favourite when she appeared as a contestant on the show in 2020, making it all the way to the semi-final alongside her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice.

As well as seeing her scores improve massively over the weeks as the Strictly judges heaped praise on her, Ranvir found herself at the centre of some romance speculation as sparks flew between her and Giovann i on the dancefloor and many fans willed them to get together.

Both maintained they had just developed a really close friendship, but that did little to quash the rumours and Ranvir had a warning for the celebs who end up on the Strictly line-up this year, just as Will Mellor and Kym Marsh were the first contestants to be confirmed.

Presenting Thursday's Lorraine as the news broke, Ranvir said: "Congratulations to them both. Good luck, you need to start getting in the gym, make sure that your body is ready because, oh my goodness, you are not prepared for what is about to happen.

"And your feet will bleed, I'm so sorry to both of you, your feet will bleed."

Reacting to Ranvir's far from positive message, Andi Peters, who was in the studio with her quipped: "Well done for signing up, your feet are going to bleed," as Ranvir protested: "No Andi, they do!"
