Ranji Trophy: KL Rahul likely to miss match against Punjab

NEW DELHI: Due to an elbow niggle, KL Rahul is probably going to miss Karnataka's Ranji Trophy match against Punjab, which starts in Bengaluru on Thursday.

According to information obtained by PTI, the India batter has expressed his worries to the BCCI medical team, who are currently keeping a check on him.

But in the final league game of the season, which begins on January 30, Rahul has an opportunity to play against Haryana.

In a day or two, the Karnataka State Cricket Association will reveal the team for the match against Punjab.

However, as Prasidh Krishna and Devdutt Padikkal are also participating in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, other Indian players from the state will be available for selection.

After returning from Australia, Devdutt played two games and scored 150 runs, demonstrating his outstanding form.

India batter Shubman Gill will be available for Punjab against Karnataka.

As part of a 10-point directive that was released on Thursday, the BCCI mandated that the best players compete in domestic matches.

To be excluded from this requirement, players must have the chairman of selectors' consent.
