KOLKATA: Having a below-par Ranji Trophy season till the fourth match of the campaign, Jharkhand completed a thumping win over Manipur by an innings and 102 runs at Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur on Monday to clinch seven points in their Elite Group A match on Monday.
The hosts dominated the game throughout the course of play on all four days as they dismissed their northeastern opponents for a paltry 170 in the first innings before taking a massive 334-run lead as they piled up 504/5 before declaring. Opener Utkarsh Singh, former captain Saurabh Tiwary and Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Anukul Roy struck centuries to virtually bat Manipur out of the contest on Day 3 morning.
