Signing season is well underway but Michael Beale is yet to make his first additions as Rangers boss with the Ibrox squad to be assessed.
Todd Cantwell is the latest name gathering pace over a move to Govan this month as the Norwich City star looks to kickstart his career, while Everton star Tom Davies has also been addressed by Beale as he weighs up his January options. There could also be outgoings this month with a host of talent out of contract this summer including Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack.
Sporting director Ross Wilson and Beale have plenty of big calls to make on the squad if they hope to close the gap on Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic, and fans are keen to see the transfer wheels in motion this month. But who could arrive at Ibrox this month and who could be on the way out of Edmiston Drive before the window slams shut?
There is plenty of business to put under the microscope. Record Sport takes a look at three potential deals for Beale.
Filip Helander
Time is running out for injury-plagued Filip Helander at Rangers with his Ibrox contract coming to an end this summer. The Swede has not kicked a ball since featuring against St Mirren before the Scottish Premiership split last season, and has suffered numerous set backs on his lengthy road to recovery.
While approaching a return to fitness, Rangers boss Michael Beale already has plenty of centre-back options at his disposal this term with Ben Davies, Connor Goldson and Leon King pushing for a starting spot. John Souttar is also nearing a return to full fitness after an injury-hampered Ibrox career so far.
That could spell the end for the 29-year-old at Ibrox with his former club Malmo reportedly keeping tabs on his status. Aftonbladet state that the Swedish international could be "on his way" this summer if a pre-contract agreement can be struck.
Glen Kamara
Speculation in France has been swirling over the prospect of Glen Kamara making a move to Ligue 1 this month. Nantes had been credited with an interest in the Finland international, who has impressed in the Ibrox engine room since the arrival of Michael Beale.
The former Queens Park Rangers boss has shown his faith in the midfielder who was struggling for regular game time in the latter days of Gio van Bronckhorst's tenure. That appears to have ended the French sides hopes of landing the 27-year-old.
French outlet Score claim that Rangers are not expected to allow Kamara to leave unless there is an "extraordinary turnaround" this month. The club are reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing Morgan Sanson to the club.
Ahmed Kendouci
ES Sétif are reportedly ready to offer midfielder Ahmed Kendouci a bumper new deal amid interest from Rangers. Algerian side CR Belouizdad have also expressed an interest in the playmaker.
Algerian outlet Competition claim that club president Chabab Mohamed Benelhadj is determined to push the boat out this month to keep their star man at the club. The report states the club are keen to make sure any potential business involved their prize asset is "dead and buried".
