The calm before the storm of a new season approaching doesn't apply to a Hotline which remains a hurricane of Scottish football debate.
Some fans have had a pop at the recruitment at Rangers while there's also a call from someone claiming Kyogo is going to be a Celtic bench warmer during the upcoming campaign. Kenny Wilson, Moffat, said: "I’m all for fans having optimism but listening to some Rangers fans you would think the league is over already. Just because they’ve signed a few players no one has heard of does not make them favourites for the league. Celtic are rightly overwhelming favourites with a team of tried and tested serial winners and are going to be even stronger than last season. I keep hearing 56 is coming but more realistically that’s the total amount of points they’ll get."
Paul McArdle, Gourock, said: "You know a club and their support are absolutely broken when they crow that their new doctor could be the signing of the summer. Celtic sold their fourth choice keeper Conor Hazard for £150k more than Rangers got for world superstars Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent combined. They should call themselves the Gumtree Galacticos."
Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: "I get fed up listening to Celtic supporters ranting about trebles, it’s Scotland for goodness sake and Celtic are the only team with money as everyone else is skint. Come down to earth lads."
John Steel said: "Kyogo might be in for a shock this season, We are not the same Rangers team he's scored all those goals against, Rangers are going to have a really solid defence this season and maybe Kyogo and Daizen Maeda will leave after a season of warming Celtics bench ,Kyogo will be lucky if he ever scores against Rangers ever again."
William Hutchison, Aberdeen, said: "Hotline regular Robert Livingston said Rangers just need to win the three Old Firm games to win the league but I am sure the league is made up of 12 teams. Surely they need to beat the other teams as well.
"Does he think it's going to be a walkover against all of the other teams? If that's the case then I am sure the other teams will have something to say about that."
Neil Renton, Leith, said: "I very much doubt Danilo is going to leave Dutch champions Feyenoord for Rangers. There’s about as much chance of seeing the Brazilian at Ibrox next season as there is of actor Damien Lewis singing his F1 rendition of ‘God Save The King’ at Parkhead."
Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny, said: "The only way Old Firm players will crack the Champions League is to do a Jota and play in the land of gold and money and hope the Arabs get permission to play in all top European competitions. The Saudis are attracting top players and managers and money will decide what happens, not FIFA."
Bud Hay, Dumfries, said: "Here we go again with Rangers fans bragging about what they are going to do. We heard it all last season from them. Celtic can't wait to gub them again. We will see at the end of season so bring it on."
Paddy Gowans, said: "Michael Beale is spending £1million here £2million there on players who will warm the bench and who couldn't get a game for their previous clubs. Neil Lennon did the same thing at Celtic and cost the club about £20 million. These players just eat into the wage bill and you are lucky if you can sell them on."
Neil Hunter, Penicuik, said: "I'm absolutely devastated as a massive Hearts fan, to be losing out on Dylan Levitt. He'll be playing in front of 20,000 at Easter Road on derby days, I can't remember the last time we had a crowd like that at Tynecastle. Gutted is an understatement."
Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: "The excitement is beginning to ramp up for the new season with marquee Friendlies coming up. Celtic against Gamba Osaka and Montrose against Forfar. I for one can't wait."
Ian Strang, said: "Here we go again another year at Wimbledon, same old story with no British player reaching the second week. How come other countries keep producing top class players? There must be something wrong with the coaching system."
