Rangers star Ryan Kent told to snub 'Championship' move amid Leeds United transfer links

Alan Hutton has told Rangers Star Ryan Kent to turn down a move to Leeds United should the Whites be relegated from the Premier League to the Championship this season.

Leeds are reportedly considering making a move for Kent in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Rangers winger is out of contract at the end of the season and is therefore free to negotiate pre-contract deals with other clubs with less than six-months left on his current contract at Ibrox.

Leeds are thought to be among those interested in his services, but their summer transfer plans are currently shrouded in uncertainty as they continue to focus on their battle against relegation. Javi Gracia's side are sat 19th in the Premier League, but are just four points off Crystal Palace seven places above the Whites in 12th.

Hutton has now sent a word of warning to Kent as the former Rangers man advised the 26-year-old against making the move to West Yorkshire should Leeds drop out of the top-flight this term.

“I would not if it was me," Hutton told Football Insider when asked if Kent should still move to Elland Road if Leeds get relegated this season. “I can only talk from my point of view and when I left Rangers I would not have wanted to leave playing in the Champions League or European competitions to go to a team in the Championship.

“That is no disrespect to that league, it is just sometimes the grass is not always greener.

"I have got a feeling that he wants to stay. I think he can do good things at Rangers. Your head would only turn if it was a good option for you and I do not see the Championship as being that.“
