Rangers star Alfredo Morelos in cryptic 'battle' post as he reacts to PSV Champions League axe

Alfredo Morelos has made a cryptic social media post just hours after he was dropped from Rangers' squad to face PSV.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his troops jet out to the Netherlands for a huge Champions League play-off return showdown with the Dutch giants - but the Colombian hitman won't be part of the team making the trip. Sky Sports News reported earlier today that the hitman was banished from the top team trip due to various concerns including fitness levels and his attitude in the early part of the campaign.

They report that Van Bronckhorst has spoken with a number of senior players within the squad, who have all backed his decision. Rangers are just potentially 90 minutes away from group stage football and the massive financial benefits that come with reaching Europe's top table. Morelos was brought on as a substitute at Easter Road at the weekend, but was only on the field for 13 minutes before seeing red from whistler Willie Collum.

Since the news, Morelos has taken to his social media channels and posted a message translated from Spanish that reads: "The best warrior isn't the one who always triumphs but the one who returns fearlessly to battle."

The Rangers hitman - who is out of contract next summer - now faces a battle to save his Ibrox career with talks over a fresh agreement on hold.
