Rangers star a 'concrete target' for familiar face amid transfer speculation

Another potential suitor has entered the race for Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin, according to reports.

The Belgian international is currently on World Cup duty and has done his reputation no harm with his early tournament displays. He featured off the bench in Belgium’s opener against Egypt and played a role as they battled back from a goal down to secure a draw.

Italian outlet Tutto Mercato reports that Bologna have now added Raskin to their shortlist, joining Serie A rivals Atalanta in tracking the 25-year-old. The Rossoblu are said to be targeting a new midfield leader, with new boss Domenico Tedesco identifying Raskin as a concrete option.

Raskin’s second outing of the tournament proved less convincing, however, as he was substituted before the hour mark in Belgium’s clash with Iran.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Ibrox in previous windows, but there is a growing sense this summer could see a deal materialise.

A move to Bologna would see Raskin link up with Scotland international Lewis Ferguson in midfield, adding further intrigue to the potential transfer.
