Injury-ravaged Rangers will be without Ryan Jack as they face Aberdeen in the Viaplay League Cup Final at Hampden.
The 31-year old-midfielder hasn't featured since a win over Livingston in November and was thought to be close to returning for the showpiece match - but it's understood he's not quite ready to join the squad.
There is better news for manager Philippe Clement regarding creative midfielder Todd Cantwell. The former Norwich man missed the 3-2 win over Real Betis in Spain due to a personal issue but he was back to business at the Rangers training centre yesterday morning.
In more positive news for the Ibrox club, winger Scott Wright will also be an option while Leon King is available despite being in a car accident last week.
Meanwhile, James Tavernier insists his team can seize momentum for the rest of the season by lifting the trophy at the national stadium.
"I'm desperate to win it and get more trophies brought back to Rangers," he said. "It's a trophy I've not won and it's a first chance for this team to pick up silverware. So it's a great opportunity for the team to put a stamp on this and move forward.
"To win silverware is always an unbelievable achievement that you will always remember for the rest of your life so to get your hands on it this early in the season would be huge momentum for the team. The fans would love to see a bit of silverware come back to the club. It's great to have this opportunity but obviously, we have to go out and see it over the line.
"It's a game when we can win a trophy and galvanise the team. It will give a taste to all the players what silverware is about and push us on even more."
