Rangers hero Nacho Novo has made a shock return to Scottish football.
The 45-year-old last played in Scotland 11 years ago.
That came when he spent a short spell at Greenock Morton. Of course, he's best known for his impact on the game in Scotland during his time at Rangers, Raith Rovers at Dundee in the early to mid-2000s.
He became a fan favourite during his time at Ibrox, where he won several Scottish Premiership titles.
The striker also played with Sporting Gijon in La Liga, before turning out for numerous clubs around Poland, England, the United States and Northern Ireland.
He called time on his playing career in 2017. He then moved into coaching in the USA in November 2022. Novo was the assistant manager of Lexington Sporting Club.
That role didn't last all too long, and he's now back involved in coaching, but this time in Scotland.
West of Scotland Football League Drumchapel United have announced that Novo has joined as a coach for the upcoming campaign.
The Glasgow-based team won the WoSFL First Division last season, and will now play in the top flight of the former junior ranks alongside the likes of Auchinleck Talbot, Darvel, Clydebank and Beith.
Their welcome post for Novo reads: "Welcome to 'The Drum' Nacho Novo.
"Drumchapel United are delighted to announce that former @RangersFC striker Nacho Novo will join the club as a coach for the 24/25 season.
"We're pleased to have Nacho on board and wish him all the best."
The Spaniard was recently in the headlines after he signed up for a charity boxing match against Scottish TikTok influencer Caz Milligan.
The bout will take place at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow at the beginning of August.
Ticket prices for the event range from anywhere between £47.10 to £228.70.
