Motherwell defender Bevis Mugabi has claimed the lines drawn by VAR in the build up to Todd Cantwell's Rangers goal appear "a bit suspect".
Michael Beale's side left Fir Park with three points despite a battling performance from the Steelmen, who took the lead early in the Scottish Premiership clash before James Tavernier levelled the game. Fashion Sakala would put Rangers in front, before Mugabi scrambled the ball in to level the game - before Cantwell's goal was allowed to stand after a lengthy check.
When the ball was slipped to forward Sakala in the build up he appeared to be in an offside position before he whipped a cross into the box, but the VAR check allowed the goal to stand. Referee Nick Walsh was not sent to the monitor by Andrew Dallas in the VAR room with the lines that were drawn and applied to the pitch in Lanarkshire showing the Zambian was narrowly onside.
Malik Tillman would go off to round off the Light Blues' victory - but Mugabi branded the technology "questionable" after seeing replays at full-time. He told Lanarkshire Live: "It's been a bit questionable. A lot of people have noticed the lines look a bit suspect but that is out of our control, we can't control what VAR does.
"All we can do is focus on ourselves and make sure we do what we are supposed to do during the game. It is just a shame we couldn't hold on for a bit longer than we did after the goal (to make it 2-2) and the sending off didn't help us either. You could still see the team staying compact, talking to each other and focusing on the job in hand. I think the manager has installed a mental toughness in us that we need to win games and get results when needed."
