Rangers future latest on Allan McGregor, Steven Davis and Leon Balogun

Allan McGregor's time at Rangers may not be over as the club plan to hold talks with two more key stars this week, according to reports.

Sporting director Ross Wilson is believed to have scheduled a sit down with defender Leon Balogun while talks with Steven Davis are set to take place over the coming days.

The Northern Ireland international has interest from Motherwell should he decide to depart the Ibrox club.

McGregor, Balogun and Davis are all in the final weeks of their current deals.

And the 40-year-old - who climbed off the bench for the final minute in the Scottish Cup win over Hearts - wants to take time before making a big call over his career, the Daily Record reports.

He's set to speak to his family and then decide whether to play on or retire.

It's reported that the futures of Balogun and Davis will be addressed first.

The Nigeria international was a key figure at times during the season for Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who looks likely to lose ever-present Connor Goldson this summer.

John Souttar is on the way in from Hearts but the departure of Goldson could leave Rangers short of defensive options.

Balogun has already stated he would love to extend his stay at Ibrox.

Speaking after the win over Hearts at Hampden, he said: "Anyone who knows how I move around the club and within the club, know I have absolutely fallen in love with this club.

"Getting knocked down and getting back up, is like my career. That is why me and Rangers are quite a good fit.

“I would love to stay. I think they know that and I hope I can announce something about my future with Rangers soon.”
