Rangers Drench Bruce Bochy With Champagne While Celebrating World Series Berth

The Rangers are back in the World Series for the first time since 2011 after taking down the rival Astros in Game 7 of an enthralling seven-game series in the ALCS.

A matchup with the Phillies or Diamondbacks awaits, but in the meantime, the Rangers are celebrating their World Series berth—and they’re soaking in the moment.

Bruce Bochy, who became the first MLB manager to reach the World Series with three different teams, delivered a speech to his team after winning the pennant. At the end of his speech, the corks came off the champagne, and the Rangers clubhouse quickly went ballistic.

Bochy effectively disappeared in a sea of champagne as Rangers players sprayed the bottles over the manager while celebrating the achievement that had evaded the franchise for longer than a decade. The goggle-clad players were shouting in excitement, jumping around and popping a seemingly endless stream of champagne and beer.

The celebrations were plentiful after the Game 7 victory, but there’s more work to be done.

Game 1 of the World Series is set for Friday, and the Rangers will be vying to claim the first championship in franchise history.
