Michael Beale has shared the heartbreaking story of his niece’s cancer relapse as the Rangers boss made an emotional appeal for blood donors.
The Light Blues boss took time out from preparing his side for Sunday’s Viaplay Cup final against Celtic to take to Instagram and tell the public about Poppy. According to Blood Cancer UK, more than 40,000 people are diagnosed with a blood cancer each year and over 250,000 people are currently living with the disease.
And Beale wrote on Instagram: “Our beautiful niece Poppy just a baby and she has gone through so much in her life already. In December 2022 she rang the bell for the end of her cancer treatment. This week, her parents received the devastating news she had relapsed. Poppy is now fighting this horrible disease head on again. It’s heartbreaking for her parents, little brother and the extended family.
