The New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes showcased their strong special teams units during the regular season, with Carolina ranking second on the power play and first on the penalty-kill, while New York placed third in both categories.
In the series opener, the Rangers secured a 4-3 victory, largely due to their effective special teams play. This outcome has put pressure on the Hurricanes to elevate their performance as they prepare to face off in Game 2 on Tuesday night.
