Not that it’s overly important compared to bigger things, but there’s a little extra cash at stake for Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams players during Super Bowl LVI.
Every player in the NFL gets a postseason bonus from the league, which increases in size the further a team advances.
At stake for the Rams and Bengals players? A pretty significant gap between winner and loser, according to Spotrac:
Super Bowl Payouts
Players from the winning Super Bowl team will cash an extra $150,000 each, while those from the losing team will earn $75,000 for their efforts.
These players already got $42,500 bonuses apiece for wins in the wild card and divisional rounds, then $65,000 for wins in their respective conference title games.
Meaning, if the Bengals lose the Super Bowl, each player will settle on $225,000. A win? An even $300,000.
This is background noise compared to some of the bigger things, like the Ja’Marr Chase vs. Jalen Ramsey showdown. But it’s an interesting detail to know ahead of the big game.
